Respiratory and Allergy:
Developing new treatments faster
Leads: Prof Paul Elkington
We are looking into how we can develop new treatments for respiratory diseases and allergies in a much shorter time frame, with higher success rates.
Health needs we are tackling
How can we develop new treatments in a much shorter time frame, with higher success rates?
We are developing a pipeline to accelerate the development of new treatments from new targets to proof-of-concept:
-
Laboratory research: we are developing advanced cellular models in the laboratory to translate ‘omics’ driven disease understanding into candidate therapies.
-
Clinical trials: we are taking laboratory results and accelerating their progression into clinical trials to show proof-of-concept.
