Health needs we are tackling
How can we promote healthy development by improving nutrition, lifestyle and metabolism in adulthood?
-
Diseases associated with obesity and alcohol: We are looking at how better diagnosis and management of cardiometabolic diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and cancers linked to obesity and alcohol consumption can improve the health of patients and people at risk.
-
Bone and muscle health in later life: we are investigating how improving bone and muscle health in later life can prevent and treat fractures and severe muscle loss associated with ageing (sarcopenia).
-
Immunity and inflammation: We are looking at how nutrition, lifestyle and metabolism affect immunity and inflammation, in order to use this knowledge to promote healthy ageing.
