Gavin is an isotope geochemist based in the School of Ocean and Earth Sciences.
His group (www.thefosterlab.org) uses geochemistry to provide insights into a range of Earth system processes from the sources of air pollution in the city of Southampton to the mechanics of coral biomineralization.
A large portion of his research focuses on developing novel analytical techniques including in situ laser ablation approaches that allow for 2D images of cellular metal content.
