Respiratory and Allergy:
Preventing respiratory and allergic disease
Leads: Prof Graham Roberts
We are looking at how respiratory and allergic diseases can be prevented.
Through our research, we aim to develop new approaches that help to reduce the risk of developing asthma or an allergy, as well as limiting the impact of air pollution to prevent lung diseases.

Health needs we are tackling
How can respiratory and allergic diseases be prevented?
-
Preventing asthma and allergy: we are developing new approaches to reduce the risk of developing asthma and allergy, through immune modulation and dietary intervention in early life.
-
Reducing the impact of air pollution: we are looking at ways of reducing exposure to air pollution can prevent lung disease from developing or getting worse, through methods such as personalised exposure-risk-reduction models.
